Peter, Media Speak’s managing director and co-founder, has become a communications specialist and one of Britain’s leading speaker coaches following a 25-year career in journalism.
Since 1993, he has trained or coached well over a thousand leaders from all parts of the private, public and not-for-profit sectors in communication skills, ranging from media interviews and presentations to investor relations and crisis.
Peter began his career in 1978 at BBC Radio Bristol, before winning a journalism scholarship that took him to the US news agency, UPI in Washington DC. In 1983 he returned to the UK where he jointly-devised and presented Money Matters, the first ever daily TV slot for market and business news, for the leading breakfast show, Good Morning Britain. In 1993, he moved to the BBC, where he reported on Business Breakfast before becoming a business and general news presenter for BBC World TV and subsequently for BBC News 24.
